Sharing our "Why"

A Business with a Deeper Purpose: My Journey from Taking Life for Granted to Giving Back

When I first started this business, my vision was clear - not because I had some masterful business plan (I don't and likely won't), but because I surpassed 500 days of sobriety. I wanted to build something meaningful, something that wasn't just about profit, but about purpose. It's the reason why, from day one, we committed to donating 25% of our profits to addiction recovery efforts. This isn't just a corporate social responsibility initiative; it's a living testament to my own journey and a way to pay forward the second chance I was given.

My story isn’t unique, but it’s mine. For years, I struggled with an addiction - at first, a means of socialization, then a crutch to cope with life's pressures, and then finally an all encompassing disease. The turning point wasn't a single dramatic event, but a series of small, desperate moments that culminated in a powerful realization: I was at a crossroads. With the encouragement of my wife and the inspiration of my children, I took the first step towards an intensive and long-term commitment to sobriety.

The lessons I learned in recovery were the foundation for this business. Resilience isn't about avoiding failure, but about getting back up after you've been knocked down - just like golf! I learned that true strength comes from vulnerability, and that success is not just measured in what you accumulate, but in what you give. As I rebuild, this business became my vehicle for change, a way to transform my past pain into a present mission.

The decision to donate a full 25% of our profits wasn't made lightly. Our commitment will be undeniable. This wasn't about a feel-good marketing campaign; it was about making a real, tangible impact. It ensures that as we grow, so does our ability to help. Our partner, Namastay Sober, shares our vision that that recovery isn't just about abstaining from a substance; it's about rebuilding a life, mind, body, and spirit. Their holistic approach is so powerful because it addresses the core need for connection and self-care that addiction destroys.

My hope is that our story can serve as a beacon of hope for others.

To those currently struggling with addiction, please know that recovery is possible. There is a community waiting to support you, and there is a life of purpose waiting to be lived.

To our customers, know that with every purchase you make, you are not only supporting our business, but you are also becoming a part of our mission. You are directly contributing to an organization that is changing lives, one person at a time.

This is more than a business; it’s a commitment to a cause that is woven into the very fabric of who we are. Thank you for being a part of it.
